Specialising in 'exciting' hand crafted ales, owned by brewing brothers Seamus & Rory Clifford on their family farm, nestled in the heart of the Waveney Valley near Bungay.
Whilst running Down to Earth, our established tree surgery business, inspired by the onset of the evolving craft beer scene, the opportunity arose to fulfill our lifelong passion for making (and drinking) good beer. This came in the way of sourcing brewery equipment and the availability of a dilapidated grain store on the family farm which we restored and turned into the brewery. With a lot of hard graft we finally became operational in 2017.
The influence of our Dad breeding and raising award winning Bulls, sharing a love of music & trees, gave rise to the name 'Bull Of The Woods' with a "nod" to an Album by West Coast 1960's Psychedelic band called the 13th Floor Elevators!
Our hop suppliers, Charles Faram, provide us with a wide variety of amazing hops from around the globe. We are also lucky enough to have Crisp Malting Group only a couple of miles away supplying us with a diverse range of high quality malts
We are commited to experimenting with new ideas, whilst having several tried and tested favourites, namely the four core beers, Rock Steady (3.8%), Vapour Trail (4.3%), Inca Gold (4.4%) and Twisted Wheel (4.5%).
Our passion is to make innovative ales that beer lovers want to drink.
We have several tried and tested favourites, namely 'Inca Gold' & 'Twisted Wheel', and are committed to continually experimenting with seasonal recipes.
